Paper Stock

“80 lb” refers to the weight of the paper, specifically its weight in pounds per 500 sheets (also known as a “ream”). In the case of card stock, which is a thicker and sturdier type of paper used for things like business cards, postcards, and invitations, an 80 lb weight would be considered relatively heavy and durable. To give you some comparison, standard copy paper is typically around 20 lb, while heavier card stock weights can range from 80 lb to 120 lb or higher. The higher the weight, the thicker and stiffer the paper will be.
100 lb card stock is a heavier and thicker type of paper that is commonly used for various printing projects, such as business cards, invitations, greeting cards, and postcards. The weight of the paper, 100 lb, refers to the weight of 500 sheets of the paper in pounds. Compared to 80 lb card stock, 100 lb card stock is even thicker and sturdier, and has a more substantial feel to it. It’s also more resistant to bending, tearing, and creasing. However, it may be slightly more difficult to print on than lighter weight card stock, so it’s important to ensure that your printer can handle the thickness of the paper before attempting to print on it.

Color Printing

  • 4/0 means full color on one side only, where “4” refers to the four process colors (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black) and “0” means no color on the back side.
  • 4/1 means full color on one side and one color (usually black) on the back side.
  • 4/4 means full color on both sides.

The numbers do not represent specific colors. The actual colors used in the printing process will depend on the design and the specific colors chosen by the designer or printer.
